New features, bug fixes, and improvements
- Added a new experimental mode: Force Use SSE. ChatGPT has two ways of streaming responses back to the users: SSE and WebSocket. It's not clear how users are assigned to each mode, but from my experience, the SSE has been more reliable than the WebSocket. So with this new option, you can force ChatGPT to always use the SSE mode, even if you are assigned to the WebSocket mode. Keep in mind, this is an experimental feature, and might not work as expected for everyone. If you are having issues with ChatGPT responses, like if it's slow or it stops in the middle of responding, just give this new option a try and see if it changes anything. To try this new option, turn on "Settings -> Conversation -> Force Use SSE". If you don't see any changes, or you see other issues after turning it ON, you can turn it back OFF again.
P.S. We also had reports of issues with no-history(temporary) chats. Basically the issue is if you are in WebSocket mode, your second message in a no-history(temporary) conversation always fails. This issue happens with or without the extension. With this new mode, you can now switch to SSE and your no-history(temporary) chats work without any issues. You can give this a try yourself and see how it works.
