OpenAI recently added a new button that allows you to Archive Chats. The difference between archive chats and deleted chats is that you can restore archived chats, but deleted chats are gone forever. Up until now, we were using the "Trash" folder feature to allow users to access deleted chats before they were completely gone. But with our trash, because the chats were deleted already, you couldn't restore them anymore. So in favor of the new "archived chats" feature we are making a few changes:

1. The trash folder is removed completely.
2. We are adding the option to archive chats to the conversation menu
3. To access your archived chats, you can: click on your avatar at the bottom left > Settings & Beta > General > Archived chats.
4. With regular ChatGPT, you can only Archive one chat at a time. I'm adding the ability to select and archive multiple chats similar to how select+export or select+delete works.

The main reason we are making this change is to improve performance. With the Trash folder, it usually gets bloated and most people forget to empty it, and that can impact performance negatively. But with archived chats, once you archive them, auto-sync won't try to sync them anymore unless you unarchive them again. This is particularly useful for people with hundreds of chats that they don't want to delete forever. Now you can archive most of those old chats and only keep the most recent ones(< 100 chats is recommended)

As part of this update, I'm also changing the auto-delete feature to auto-archive instead and making it available to all users (it was previously only available to Pro users) With auto-archive enabled, you don't have to think about archiving your old chats anymore. You can just let the auto-archive handle that for you. You can select a number of days, or number of chats to keep in history, and archive the rest.

New features, bug fixes, and improvements

• Added support fot Archiving/Unarchiving chats
• Replaced the icon on conversation and folders in History with a menu. Click on the (...) to open the menu for all options
• Moved "Delete All" and "Export All" into a new menu on the sidebar and added a new button for "Archive All". these buttons could also work with selected chats instead of All chats
• Replaced the Auto-Delete feature with Auto-Archive and made it available to all users.(Free and Pro)
• You can now duplicate Prompt Chains with one click
• Fix the text wrapping for long text in user input
